Street Art

HG1 For Everyone.

Following a successful wall art project in 2021 on Cross James Street, Harrogate BID wanted to add more colour and creativity to areas in the Town Centre that needed it the most.

‘HG1 for Everyone’ was the umbrella for several street art projects in 2022. We worked with Hallmark Cards, thanks to Harrogate BIDs Project Lead, Jo Caswell’s links, to produce three pieces of street art, one being on the blocked- up windows of the old Post Office on Cambridge Road, the side of Lakeland on Petergate and Cambridge Mews off Oxford Street, all representing different aspects of the town including florals, Crimple Viaduct and celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Turkish Baths.

We came up with the title ‘HG1 For Everyone’ as we want a Town Centre that everyone – visitors, residents and businesses alike can appreciate.

These projects appeared in the same week that Sam Porter of Mural Minded added a splash of colour and florals to the former Debenhams Store on Parliament Street.
