Hosting a ‘Majestic’ affair for the King’s Coronation
Harrogate BID is all set to host a fun-filled family celebration event to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
This will take place on the 6th and 7th of May at Harrogate’s DoubleTree by Hilton Majestic Hotel & Spa, in partnership with Your Harrogate.
A stage and screen will be the focal point, where residents and visitors alike can watch the run up to the big day and the coronation ceremony itself. Entertainment will also be on offer, including the chance to win various prizes and music from well-known local DJ Mark Green on the Sunday. It is free to attend, and food and drinks will be available to purchase from the hotel.
It is hoped that the event will attract families and friends to come along, pitch up their picnic blankets and deck chairs, and enjoy the right ‘royal’ affair.

This Month’s Harrogate Fashion Show
In May, we will be hosting a fashion show to celebrate the wonderful mix of retail shops, from independents to national chains, that call Harrogate their home.
In a bid to invigorate the high street and present the opportunity for retailers to express themselves and their collections, the event will take place on Saturday 20th May between 10am and 5pm.
A pop-up catwalk will be the focal point of the event in the town’s Victoria Shopping Centre piazza area, whilst retailers will themselves host unique in-house pop-up experiences to attract the fashion conscious!
Categories will include wedding seasons, upcycling, activewear, hair and beauty, summer selections and many more.
Morgan Clare, Hoopers, Specsavers, Lush and Primark have all signed up to take part.

Harrogate Floral Summer of Celebration
In April, the team at Harrogate BID showcased the town centre to the thousands of attendees at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
We delivered a pop-up garden in collaboration with Harrogate International Partnership. The garden celebrated the four towns which Harrogate is twinned with across the world – and we won gold with our display!
Harrogate BID will be launching this year’s Harrogate Floral Summer of Celebration, a two-week long campaign which will run from July 21st to August 4th. This will include ten unique floral displays, an immersive exhibition and a floral window dressing competition in partnership with Harrogate in Bloom. From a giant Buddha to a floral musical wall, there will be plenty of exciting things to see and experience.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming the Britain in Bloom judges to Harrogate sometime in late July to early August, where they can then see the town in all its floral glory before we attend the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals in October!

A Successful Dog Show
The Harrogate Dog Show returned over the Easter weekend, and this time we decided to bring the four-legged festival slap bang into the middle of town – in the Victoria Shopping Centre piazza area.
The show included eight categories and an agility course – all judged by the Yorkshire Vet himself, Peter Wright!
The sun shone, and people came out in their droves. It’s safe to say the Harrogate Dog Show will be back in 2024 – thank you to everyone that supported the event!
Our Amazing Street Performers Return
Our street entertainers are back in town!
From Easter until Christmas, across 16 dates, various acts will be performing around the town centre, delivering both static and roaming entertainment.
This will include the likes of Val & Halla, PC Gone Mad, Maniax, Edmund & Hillary and the Dub Step Elves from Markmark Productions.
Business Plan Launch
Thank you to everyone who attended our business plan launch on Wednesday! It was a great turn out and we enjoyed presenting our future plan to you all.
Our next business plan sets out our vision for 2024-28, our three main objectives and how we will look to achieve these:
Pride in our Town: We all want a clean, safe and attractive town centre. Our aim will be to ensure these elements are delivered by partners and the pride in our town shines through our additional projects to strengthen the environment for businesses, residents and visitors alike.
A Vibrant Town: This will include creating events and campaigns that promote our town in a multitude of ways, to ensure that visitors travel to Harrogate from far and wide and that residents love where they live that little bit more.
Voice & Vision: Harrogate BID will act as the glue that brings everyone together, while not being afraid to raise our collective voice for the good of our town. We will work on your behalf to get your opinions heard and aspirations delivered.
