Harrogate Beer Week is set to return later this month, thanks to another year of support from Harrogate BID.

This will be the fourth year of the event – a week-long, town-wide celebration of Harrogate’s craft beer, brewing heritage and beer culture in the local community.

Founded in 2021, Harrogate Beer Week will celebrate the quality of Harrogate’s social scene and night time economy, offering a programme of special events, offers and promotions hosted at bars, brewery taps and eateries across Harrogate.

It’s not a traditional beer festival and is intended to bring something new to the town, disrupting the norms of the perceived ‘brand Harrogate’ and embracing a new perspective on what Harrogate has to offer.

On the programme for 2024 are free beer tastings, tap takeovers – including a Verdant 10th birthday party – live music events, pub quizzes, an Oktoberfest celebration, bring-your-own vinyl sessions, craft events, folk nights, special discounts and even a North vs South beer-off, with even more still to be announced.

The Beer Week campaign will be delivered by local beer and pubs champion and marketing specialist Rachel Auty. Rachel has worked with some of the UK’s leading craft breweries, journalists, and influencers, and she is currently a Director on the board of the British Guild of Beer Writers.

Rachel said: “Harrogate Beer Week puts a spotlight on our fantastic beer scene and I’m really proud to lead this project, support and celebrate my hometown. There’s more to Harrogate than tearooms and flower shows and this event aims to bring a completely different perspective and appeal to a new demographic.

“I’d love all our local pubs, bars, taprooms and bottle shops to use the Beer Week to really show what they can do and I’d love to see more people discover what a brilliant beer town Harrogate really is.”
