North Yorkshire Council has launched a third consultation for plans to form a Harrogate Town Council – and here’s how you can get involved.
Last year, the Council consulted with our town’s residents on proposals to create a Town Council and what it may look like.
The findings show that the majority responded in support of the creation of a Town Council and the plans that the parish is divided into 10 wards. As well as this, each ward would be represented by two councillors, with the exception of Saltergate, totalling 19 councillors.
Councillors supported the recommendation of the creation of a Town Council, but suggested a warding pattern of 19 single councillors using the boundaries of the former Harrogate Borough Council.
This has led to a further consultation period, which is required before the final approval can be made.
Residents and businesses are asked to respond with which warding pattern they would prefer for Harrogate Town Council before Friday, May 31st.
