Harrogate BID was delighted to meet with the new MP for Harrogate & Knaresborough today to share the voice of local business and discuss working in collaboration.

BID Manager Matthew Chapman was pleased to host a first meeting with Lib Dem MP Tom Gordon, alongside the Charter Mayor Councillor Chris Aldred, to review some of the challenges in Harrogate and discuss how they may be overcome.

The BID are hoping to work in collaboration with Mr Gordon in the future to ensure further positive outcomes for Harrogate as the Business Improvement District strives to continue to improve the town centre.

Matthew Chapman said: “We’re certainly keen to work alongside our local MP to continue to lobby the Government for the good of our town!

“We know that working in collaboration can be very effective, so it was fantastic to meet with Mr Gordon today to discuss this as we know that together we can bring better change for Harrogate.

“We wish him well during his time as our MP and look forward to catching up with him again soon.”

Tom Gordon won the seat in early July by a majority of 8,058.
